2008 AYRSHIRE CHAMPIONSHIP.... This competition is fished every year at Loch Doon near Dalmelington in South Ayrshire. The format has been the same for many years with three sections enabling people of all ages to fish the method that is best suited to them. The loch holds a substantial population of wild brown trout with an occasional sea trout turning up now and then. Although we always have a good representation on the day it would be nice to see more of our members participate in one of the oldest competitions anywhere in Scotland.

Our A team of Craig Osborne, Tam Campbell and Wullie Osborne were eventual winners and Craig also won a bottle of malt whiskey for his excellent bag of eleven trout.
