A fly developed from Bob Church pattern within champions book. Have used at Rutland, Grafham to great effect. Usefull fly at the Lake of Menteith. Fish on point of intermediate line or on middle dropper between two boobys on Di7. This fly got me to daily record 3 man team final and accounted for rutland fish to 3:15 .

My mainstay point fly for wild brownies. Use it for buzzer feeders. Claret dun feeders in particular. Have used it to great effect at the Lake of Menteith during buzzer hatch.

Early season lure for rainbows, use as point fly and has been successfull at wide range of venues. I do not have it off my cast through March and April. Won me competitions at Frandy and North third.

This pattern takes over from the Green Pea as theseason progresses, excellant stockie rainbow fly for any water. Variation- replace yellow with orange . effective at venues like Orchil loch.

Variation of the Cats Whiskers that I have used for years. Excellant fly for the Lake of Menteith. Use on point or top dropper.Variation, body of pearl cactus chenille. Helped me win a Benson and Hedges jumper at Loch Leven and at upteen competitions at the Lake has proved its self time and again.

Great fly for Butterstone loch, use it as fry pattern at a wide range of venues-Variation- replace orange bead with red one.

Fantastic fly for brownies and rainbows in local lochs, Loch Ochiltree in particualr, Fish in middle dropper position on cast. Variation, try flu green to replace red for early season.

Top dropper position for wild brownies, only problem i have with this is i have to replace Doobry. Excellent all rounder, will fish on sinking lines, this is not just a floating line pattern, good on loch awe. Variation, replace red wool with magenta wool.

My first line of attack for top drooper for brownies , any venue any time of year, Excellent rainbow fly in local lochs. Variation, for recent stock fish, browns and rainbows, or for heavy peat tinged water, replace red tail with orange, or again with magenta.

Got this variation ten years ago from a Northen Ireland angler at the World Wet Fly Championships at Lough Mask. Great fly in particular for rainbows from June on, fish on top dropper, usefull for a wide range of venues,but again proved its self at the Lake of Mentieth winning me a national semi final a few years back.
