YELLOW DANCER (VARIANT)
Hook - Wychwood wet fly size 10

Head - Avro Hot Head lime green
This is the first season for this variant of a very popular pattern that has taken the stillwater scene by storm. It has already performed well at a few different venues including the season opener at Orchil Loch.
OLIVE TINHEAD
Hook - Bob Church Tinhead size 12
Thread - Olive
Tail - Olive mink with gold Litebrite over
Body - Dubbed olive SLF with a gold wire rib
Hackle - Grizzle cock palmered
This is an all time small stillwater classic. Fish this on the point with two small nymphs on the droppers on an intermediate line. Vary the retrieve until you arouse some interest, can be deadly at times.
PEACHES AND CREAM BOOBY
Hook - Kamasan B - 175 size 10
Thread - Red
Tail - Coral marabou
Body - Coral marabou with a pearl Mylar rib
Wing - White marabou with Angel Hair over
Cheeks - Pearl Mylar
Eyes - Yellow Plastazote
A good all season pattern. Fish on top dropper or on the point with any line even a floater. Works well pulled quickly once the proper depth has been found.
CONCRETE BOWL
Hook - Kamasan B - 160 size 10 or 12
Thread - Black
Tail - Black Sunburst marabou
Body - Glowbrite chenile flo lime with a medium silver rib
Hackle - Soft black cock
Head - Glowbrite chenile flo lime
This pattern has been around for ages but is still a top fish catcher. When boat fishing with a team of small lures this fly solves the problem of what to put on the middle dropper. Very effective on Mentieth and similar lochs an old pattern but one that should be given a swim.
RED HEAD CRUNCHER
Hook - Kamasan B - 160 size 10 or 12
Tail - A few fibres of red game hackle
Thread - Red
Body - Natural cock pheasant centre tail with fine copper wire rib
Thorax - Peacock herl one strand
Hackle - Red game hackle
Good all rounder for rainbow trout. Try on the top or middle dropper with a lure on the point. A slow figure of eight retrieve works best on floating lines. Also catches well on various sinking lines
CLAN CHIEF
Hook - Kamasan B - 160 size 10 or 12
Thread - Black
Tail - Globrite floss red over yellow
Body - Black SLF with a siver wire rib
Hackle - Black and red cock palmered together with a soft black hen wound in at the head
A terrific top dropper pattern for brownies that can also be effective for rainbows. Pulled on a floater in a decent wave it brings the trout up and can provide some exciting sport. Comes into its own on lochs such as Awe and Rannoch.
GLISTER SHRIMP
Hook - Siman leaded shrimp size 10 or 12
Thread - Black
Body - Hare well mixed with olive Glister, dubbed with a fine holographic gold rib
Shellback - Lureflash holographic in green
Rib - 5lb bs double strength nylon
Head - Black thread built up
A proven grayling magnet that also takes its share of brownies. A good dropper pattern for `bug style' and comes into its own on the Borders rivers such as the Teviot
