This is the first season for this variant of a very popular pattern that has taken the stillwater scene by storm. It has already performed well at a few different venues including the season opener at Orchil Loch.

This is an all time small stillwater classic. Fish this on the point with two small nymphs on the droppers on an intermediate line. Vary the retrieve until you arouse some interest, can be deadly at times.

A good all season pattern. Fish on top dropper or on the point with any line even a floater. Works well pulled quickly once the proper depth has been found.

Hackle - Soft black cock

This pattern has been around for ages but is still a top fish catcher. When boat fishing with a team of small lures this fly solves the problem of what to put on the middle dropper. Very effective on Mentieth and similar lochs an old pattern but one that should be given a swim.

Good all rounder for rainbow trout. Try on the top or middle dropper with a lure on the point. A slow figure of eight retrieve works best on floating lines. Also catches well on various sinking lines

A terrific top dropper pattern for brownies that can also be effective for rainbows. Pulled on a floater in a decent wave it brings the trout up and can provide some exciting sport. Comes into its own on lochs such as Awe and Rannoch.
