CV...."Outside Scotland I've fished Loughs Arrow, Mask, Corrib, Carra and Conn and the River Finney in Ireland and Rutland, Gratham and the River Lune in England".
EDGE...."In the past I've enjoyed a significant edge when fishing rivers through my self tied dry flies. this edge is now long gone. I blame Hans Van Klinkhamer for this".
NEEDS WORK ON....My casting
METHODS.... "Adapt or die! Fishing in competitions can put pressure on you , but there is absolutely no doubt that competition drives innovation".
TACKLE...."I fished for many years with one rod for all occasions, my big eleven foot three Bruce and Walker Century. Now I'm a member of "Team Orvis" with my ten foot Trident. I sent for the free rod on offer when you subscribe to "Today's Fly fisher". This is already proving an excellent reservoir rod".
FAVOURITE TACKLE PURCHASE...."My Barbour scarf, essential for heat, comfort and a barrier to rain. Oh Aye... my specially designed Pineapple Cake container. The meeting of my comfort needs are paramount at all times".
FAVOURITE VENUES...."The rivers Tweed, Clyde and Tummel, I had a brilliant day on the Tay for trout early in the season and I know I will live to regret this but I'm developing a wee fondness for Loch Awe".
PET HATES...."Smoke and ash flicked in my face on the minibus".
BEST THING ABOUT CROWN FLYFISHERS...."Well its certainly not the air quality on the minibus, it has to be the open sharing of patterns and tactics by everyone".
AMBITIONS...."To win the Crown Championship and to have a top three finish in the Scottish River Championships. Long odds against both".
FAVOURITE WAYS TO ANNOY STEWART...."Make him jealous of my "piece".
